Thomas W. Jenkins, 69, of Lafayette Hill, a lawyer who represented many labor unions in the Philadelphia area, died May 25 of respiratory failure at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Mr. Jenkins, a cofounder of the Philadelphia-based firm Jennings Sigmund P.C., represented teachers, firefighters, police officers and others in a career that spanned 40 years.
He successfully handled several major arbitration cases for Philadelphia’s Fraternal Order of Police.
Born in Scranton, he was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Scranton, the University of Scranton and Georgetown University Law School.
After graduating from law school, he worked for a time for the state Attorney General’s Office before starting the Jennings Sigmund firm in 1973.
He enjoyed target shooting and spending time at a vacation home in the Poconos.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Barbara Ancas; a brother; and three sisters.
